Project summary:
The financing will be used to: expand DELTAIC gastronomic space to allow them to create not only more space for their diners but a multi-purpose space that can be adapted to different needs; install photovoltaic solar panels on the roof of their building to power their facilities with electricity from renewable sources; adapt the rear façade of the building that faces the expanded space; and finish the fences and the new access from Gaudí street.
Details of the investments to be financed:
The entire project will follow circular economy and sustainable architecture criteria. Closed-cycle materials (biospheric or technical) will be used everywhere with the exception of the foundations, which due to the type of soil and the proximity of the water, will be made of concrete. The extension has been designed looking for the best thermal behaviour with passive measures (cross-ventilation, insulation, orientation, etc.) to minimize the energy requirements for air conditioning. As a result, we will be able to use part of the energy generated by the solar plates to cover the energy demand of household appliances and the lighting system of the gastro space. Our goal is to operate efficient and sustainable facilities and take 100% of our energy needs through sustainable processes.
The project involves an expansion of the gastronomic space, not only in terms of seat capacity, but also to provide an adequate space to carry out workshops, experiences and events year-round. It will also entail a redistribution of space that will improve internal flows, making operational tasks more efficient. Likewise, the new design of the exterior space will enhance our architectural and brand image, and will give us greater visibility thanks to the entrance on C/ Antoni Gaudí: a much broader and more attractive access than the current one on Avinguda Generalitat. In short, the renewed space will allow us to nurture our project and improve our work related to disseminating sustainability and promoting culture by:
1.- Offering a suitable space to develop gastronomic activities linked to the visits to our garden, such as those we carry out with the Danish DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia Foundation or the Università di Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo (founded by the Slow Food International Association) and that are part of the “hortet del riu” (our regenerative garden) action in the framework of the ECST (European Charter for Sustainable Tourism) Action Plan 2022-2026 of the Ebro Delta Natural Park.
2.- Expanding our restaurant space to make it more profitable for all seasons and to achieve the Slow Food certification in 2024.
3.- Programming events and workshops throughout the year without being subject to the weather conditions.
4.- Reinforcing our current collaborations with entities of the territory at a cultural level such as Deltebre Dansa and Terres Festival, or with the associations of which we form part (e.g. AEEDE, Associació Sediments)
5.- Consume renewable energy throughout the space on the ground floor, with a new 6.0 KWp self-consumption solar energy installation located on the roof and the pergolas of the building itself.
6.- Improving access to our gastronomic space, as well as centralising access to all our facilities to a single point, and expanding the exhibition space of our current shop by including a point of sale for organic bread in collaboration with Ecoespelta.
7.- Devising a space in the courtyard for bicycles parking and renting in collaboration with the local company 4camins.
8.- Improving the common premises available for the guests staying at Deltaic.
9.- Reusing rainwater from the roof to irrigate our green areas.
We are an ecotourism project covering different fields of action, such as accommodation, culinary experiences, commerce and other activities related to the region. Sustainability is our main driving force and remains at the forefront of our decision-making. We are located in the Terres de l'Ebre Biosphere Reserve and a signatory to the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism through the Delta del Ebro Natural Park. We made a name for ourselves and gained relevance in the ecotourism sector by promoting producers in our territory who work ecologically and by disseminating knowledge about sustainability and culture.

Although we have been operational for only 5 years now, we have received several awards: Special Mention in the 2019 edition of the Habitat Futura Rethink Hotels Awards "for promoting a paradigm shift through ecotourism projects"; 2020 Edelweiss Award for the Best Sustainable Practice in Rural Areas nationwide; and 2021 CETT Alimara Award in the category Through Sustainability.
We began by refurbishing and managing a building with six apartments, located in Deltebre, in the middle of the Ebro Delta, that had been abandoned for many years. We renovated it according to sustainability criteria and, in less than one year after we commenced our operations, opened our gastronomic and cultural space, as well as a small shop offering local organic products. In mid-2019 we acquired a plot next to our building to expand the available exterior surface and ensure the future growth of the project. In 2021, we incorporated under our management an additional plot on the Ebro riverbank, where we created a vegetable garden to promote regenerative agriculture, as well as being an ideal location for a future growth in accommodation under our management.
After experiencing the challenging impact of Covid-19, fiscal year 2022 represented a positive turning point that kick-started a period of projected growth for us from 2023 to 2026. Our objective is to implement a series of actions aimed at: expanding the project by providing the necessary equipment to improve our services; growing our green ecosystem to ensure the economic strength of the resources we generate; and ultimately, spreading our values more powerfully as seeds for a better world.
What do I have to do to participate in this crowdlending loan?:
